Miss Me When I Leave

I have a lot on my mind.   I got my fourth COVID shot this morning.  I went for acupuncture this afternoon.  I helped try to trap a dog this morning that has been hanging around the school.  I don't want it to die.   I cannot ride up to work and see that dog in the street, dead.

Last week, Alec, Lola and I drove to south Texas.  Big Bend National Park.  We drove for two days to get there.  The Chihuahua desert.  We stayed in a solar house in the middle of nowhere.  That was where we wanted to be.  The stars were amazing.   The wind kicked up hard at night and it was really cold.  Lola, Alec and I huddled together in the bed, at the edge of the universe, and it was awesome.  We went to the parks.  I reached across the Rio Grande and almost touched Mexico, via the Santa Elena canyon.  I saw rams, roadrunners, quail and javelina.  We ran into la migra a lot.  I think we saw two migrants.  I can't stop thinking of them.

We didn't help.
